GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Livelihood Training Officer- would provide supervision for all the project Training activities in the field, promoting community participatory approaches in all the training activities throughout the project cycle, which includes identification of beneficiaries, awareness-raising, sensitisation, Livelihood project activities training and capacity building, Pre and Post Training Activities Monitoring under direct supervision of Livelihood Specialist or the Project Manager.
Main responsibilities and tasks
Project Management
Lead in Training, Capacity Building, Monitoring and Reporting all INTERSOS’s field Livelihood-related activities, including Natural Resource Management, Crop Production, Income Generation activities, Small scale Agricultural Marketing Strategy, Post-Harvest Management, Livestock Management (Poultry Farming, cattle breeding etc) Food for Assets activities, Income Generation activities, Civil and Social Infrastructure Development etc
Provide primary field level information / Assessment/targeting / Analysis on Training and Capacity Building Needs to Livelihood Specialist / Project Manager;
Participate in the development of relevant Livelihood projects, including a training manual, training planning, KAP, KII, success stories, case studies, sector best practices, monitoring, assessment, capacity building verification processes;
Manage all the Livelihood Project’s activities Training and Capacity Building need, including training need on general food security, nutrition, protection, gender mainstreaming and project overview at the field level;
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
• BSc Degree in Agricultural Science / Engineering, / DVM / Livestock Specialist / Forestry / Environment / Business Administration, Disaster Management, Social Sciences
Professional experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience at national level project implementation position in a humanitarian/developmental context;
• Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts;
• Technical Livelihood expertise in Training and Capacity Building.
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
• Experience in leadership and problem solving;
• Fluency in English and local language, both written and oral;
• Capacity to adapt to basic living conditions;
• Ability to put up with job pressure;
• Ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines;
• Strong negotiation skills.
