ActionAid Nigeria is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions within the organisation:
Director, Resource Mobilisation and Innovations – Abuja
The Director, Resource Mobilisation and Innovations will set and lead the organisations fundraising strategy, creating new businesses with public and private sector donors including bilateral, multi-lateral agencies and foundations in line with ActionAid Nigeria country strategy, programmatic vision, goals and mission.
Education/Qualifications
- First degree in social sciences or arts/humanities Is essential
- Masters’ degree in a related field Is essential
Experience
- At least 10 years’ post NYSC experience, 5 of which should be in a similar role and at Senior Management position in the development sector is essential
- Wide experience working in a fundraising environment and raising resources from institutions and other donors is essential
- Experience developing and delivering fundraising strategies is essential
- Experience writing successful funding proposals is essential

- Ability to influence and encourage others to new concepts and ways of working within an environment of change

Sponsorship Finance Manager- Abuja (Re-advertised)
The position holder will take a lead on the local child sponsorship initiative in terms of designing implementation of appropriate system of accounting and internal control; coordinate the roll out of financial implementation plan of the local child sponsorship in specific locations as will be decided by ActionAid Nigeria and ensure it’s effectiveness, efficiency and compliance with relevant standards and law. The role will cover both ActionAid International supported Child Sponsorship mechanism and the local ActionAid Nigeria’s Community Sponsorship initiative
Education/Qualifications
- First degree in Accounting/Finance is essential
- Masters’ degree in relevant studies is essential
- Nationally recognised Professional Accounting qualification is essential
Experience
- At least 8 years’ post NYSC experience, of which 4 years’ post professional qualification experience with 2 years in a managerial position is essential
- Experience in implementing financial control systems is essential
- Experience in using SUN Accounting Systems & Spreadsheets is essential
- Experience in working with International development agencies in a similar position is desirable

- Excellent skills in facilitation and capacity building for interlinkages between staff partners & stakeholders

Finance Advisor, Migration project – Abuja (Re-advertised, formerly Finance Officer)
The post holder will ensure maintenance of adequate financial integrity in supporting quality and timely data input for generation of financial reports, review and analyze accounting ledgers. S/he will also contribute to strengthening the internal control and accounting systems of AAN and partner organizations.

Education/Qualifications
- First degree in Accounting/Finance Is essential
- Relevant Accounting Professional Certification e.g ICAN isdesirable
Experience
- Four (4) years post NYSC working experience, (3) of which should have been spent in a finance position is essential
- Experience implementing financial control systems is essential
- Sound practical Knowledge of any accounting software and spreadsheets is essential
- Experience working in an International development agency is desirable
Skill/Abilities
- Sound practical Knowledge of any accounting software and Spreadsheets
- Ability to work well with or without supervision
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to interface effectively with other members of staff and solve problems using own initiative
Communications Officer, SARVE II – Abuja
The post holder will support the “System and Structure Strengthening Approach against Radicalization to Violent Extremism (SARVE II) Project in Kogi and Nasarawa States” in line with ActionAid Nigeria’s (AAN’s) Communication Strategy, community relations and publicity to influence and inform the project’s stakeholders, beneficiaries, staff, partners and donor in line with the project’s objectives.
Person Specifications
Education/Qualifications
- First degree in Communications, Social Sciences or Arts/ Humanities is essential
- Membership of NUJ, APCON and other relevant professional bodies is desirable
Experience
- At least three (3) years’ post NYSC working experience, two (2) of which should be in a communication field in the development sector is essential
- Experience in website development and digital communications is essential
- Experience in capacity building including training and facilitationis essential
- Experience working with the media is desirable
- Familiarity with popular media sector and previous relationship with same is desirable
Skill/Abilities
- Online i.e. website management and digital communications
- Understanding of the role of advocacy work and communication in development.
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to provide practical solutions within set deadlines.

Logistics Assistant- Abuja
The post holder will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient administrative support in the Logistics unit. S/he will work closely with the Logistics Advisor to facilitate the smooth running of the unit as well as ensure effective vehicle and facility management in accordance with ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) policy.

Education/Qualifications
- Minimum of National Diploma in Business Administration or Social Sciences/Art is essential
- A Vocational certification is desirable
Experience
- At least two (2) years working experience is essential
- Experience in office administration is essential
- Experience in managing vehicles (including driving), travels and facilities is essential
- Experience in an international development agency is desirable
Skill/Abilities
- Demonstrable IT skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
- Good knowledge of FRSC rules and guidelines
- Good knowledge of Abuja roads and other road network in Nigeria
- Creative and takes initiative.
- Excellent administrative skills
