- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue and ultimately business growth
- Responsible for P&L and development of annual budget, departmental plans and KPIs
- Negotiating ongoing contracts with suppliers and customers
- Conduct meetings and coordinate all activities to ensure safety and quality of work on board
- Issue and update business plans promptly
- Carry out safety checks and develop personnel continually
- Execute and control the works through the technical team
- Approve the sub-contract work based on recommendations by departments
- Conduct progress meetings and review work schedules
- Prepare and update worklist for endorsement by Owner’s Rep
- Ensure timely submission of client and Group Company Reports
- Ensure endorsement of Vessel Acceptance Certificate by Owner’s Rep upon ship delivery
- Collect Customer Feedback Forms from Owner’s Rep
- Manage monthly business development functions and business management functions
- Interpreting market trends, give insight into how a company can make adjustments to improve performance and adapt to industry changes
- Streamlining lead generation processes to chase leads swiftly
- Management of existing and potential client’s information using CRM Leads client-relationship management, tracks new markets and emerging trends, recommends new products and services, proposes and develops new strategic partnerships
- Guides long-term objectives to meet business needs and requirements
- Designs, manages and executes policies to deliver business strategy
- Take the lead in periodic review of Nigerdock Ship Repairs Tariff list
- Ensure a risk based approach is implemented in the acquisition and execution of Ship repair Projects and management of operations
- Deliver reports monthly to Executive Committee, and ad-hoc and/or as required
Requirements
- 10 years related experience to Managing a Shipyard business or similar
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering or business
- Possess relevant experience in Ship building and Ship Repairing Industry for those without formal qualification
- Demonstrable experience in leading HSEQ performance, compliance to regulations and policies
- Safety certificates and leadership training
- Project management experience in marine
- Experience with Profit and Loss Responsibility
- Ability to apply Continuous Improvement strategies, which includes the ability to introduce needed change, create excitement for change and lead change initiatives.
- Adaptable and open to new ideas
- Previous work experience in a developing country (desirable)
