The Programme Manager role is critical in ensuring (i) project management, thought leadership and fundraising practice in the programme is anchored in Christian Aid strategy, policies, systems, processes and guidelines, and (ii) effective people management from recruitment, development, modelling of good practice, and performance management leads to a high performing team who are meeting their objectives.
Doing this will ensure quality and excellent across the following three key results are delivered: –
- The country programme is adaptively and effectively delivering and scaling up innovative interventions that are evidently shifting power and gender relations and leading to thriving and resilient societies without leaving anyone behind.
- Each project/programme is robustly evidencing outcomes (scale, depth, sustainability, inclusivity) through robust routine data, operational research, robust evaluations and communicating it.
- The programme is effectively mobilising resources to scale up what works
About you
Motivated and self-driven person with ability to make decision and collaborate within diverse teams. With line management from the Country Manager, you will manage programme staff to successfully lead within the respective teams and effectively manage projects with partner. You will do this by ensuring quality and excellence in the process of project and partnership management within the agreed strategy, business model, and policies.
This is about you leading effectively individually and collaboratively in teams to deliver key outputs while exercising passion, autonomy and mutual accountability. You will challenge status quo, embrace and respect diversity of views, enable others to co-lead with you, and act to make contributions toward achievement of the shared team goals.
You will have ability to think creatively to navigate the complexities and uncertainties and the ever faster pace of change in the development world and operating context in Kenya. You will also demonstrate ability to translate thinking into results in a timely manner. In doing so, you will facilitate teams collaborate with other functions including the respective Thematic Advisors; Programme Finance team; Finance & Operations team; ME&L Officers and with Communication Officers.
