Description
Key accountabilities
- Develop and implement central procurementsystems and processes for ALL non-product/indirect overhead procurement, inline with Local and Global Procurement Strategy and ensure compliance thereof.
- Develop reporting tools and KPI’s for thebusiness
- Assist the business in implementing the aboveand recommend alternatives as and when necessary
- Promote and implement procurement best practicesin line with Pearson’s Global Procurement Strategy.
- Liaise with the Accounts Payables, Sourcingspecialist and BBBEE teams to understand current vendors, spend, % of vendorson contract and % of vendors compliant from a regulation perspective
- Review current procurement systems and processesand develop/update where necessary
- Analyse current spend and forecast future basedon business needs
- Provide regular communication between Suppliersand Pearson teams
- Provide regular training and educate staff onprocurement processes
- Assist the business to comply with theprocurement processes
- Maintain and manage all vendor master data
- Maintain and manage contractual commitments withsuppliers (ie when contracts are coming up for renewal)
- Conduct Supplier performance measurement andreporting
- Rationalise Supplier base and ensure quality
- Analyse transactional efficiency and turnaroundtimes
- Maintain a supplier database
- Analyse and record current procurement practicesand procedures and purchasing trends across Pearson.
- Ensure effective implementation of the abovethroughout One Pearson
- Maintain effective relationships with allSuppliers
- Collaborate with counterparts within Growth andCore markets as and when necessary
- Maintain the asset register
- Provide procurement transaction and suppliermanagement support across divisions and commodities, interface to suppliers,coordinate eProcurement initiatives and interface with internal customers.
- Work Strategic Sourcing process to establishcategory procurement policies and processes, serve as internal process owner,and modify policies as appropriate.
- Keep up to date with best practice within theprocurement industry and apply accordingly
- Perform other procurement activities asrequested on an ad-hoc basis.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent
- Procurement professional qualification an added advantage
- Project Management (PRINCE2, APMP, Scrum/Agile)
- Process and Change Management
- Advanced skills in MS Excel.
- ERP systems awareness.
