The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not for profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in Canada and throughout the world, is currently seeking a Operations Surge Delegate for its Emergency Drought Response Operation in Ethiopia.

Below normal rains in southern and eastern Ethiopia resulted in drought, which will severely affect the population’s access to food and water, as well as increasing the risk of disease outbreaks. A component of supplementary feeding for livestock has also be implemented simultaneously. This intervention is being extended by a 6-month period (September 2017 – March 2018). Additional activities during this period will include borehole drilling and hygiene promotion, construction of a warehouse and prepositioning of non-food items.
