The Sahel programme is growing and is largely focused on building the resilience of communities affected by climate change.

About the role

Christian Aid is leading a partnership with 9 organizations for the DfID-funded BRACED programme in Burkina Faso, for 3 years and an amount of GBP 7,300,000. The objective is to develop transformational solutions to climate variability & disasters for 1.3 M people in 4 provinces by improving climate forecasting, behavioral change & sharing resilience expertise & technology. A project management unit (PMU) has been put in place to ensure the coordination of the implementation of the project by the ten members of the consortium. The PMU accounts three staff including a director, a financial manager and a head of programme (HoP). The PO-AC will be the fourth member of the PMU and will provide support to BRACED Head of Programme and reinforce the coordination team.

The PO provides general assistance and support to the HoP and ensures coordination and implementation of the BRACED consortium’s advocacy and communication strategy.  S/he will specifically be in charge of monitoring our Knowledge Manager partner (KCL), identifying and capturing evidence and learning which will be used to communicate and advocate project achievements according to our strategy and action plans.

About you

Must have a knowledge of the country context and knowledge of major institutional donors and an understanding of how the international development sector operates

Must be fluent (written and oral) in language of country of work and must have good working and written knowledge of English.

Must have experience working in the international development sector with partners and donors. Must have experience of developing and implementing best practice and capacity building partners. Must have experience of data collection and reporting (including basic financial) and good organisational ability.
