About the role
The Programme Officer will coordinate the activities related effective delivery of the GEOP project. The post holder’s roles include partnership building, monitoring, reporting and technical support and ensure the logistical functioning of the project. The role will also be M&E focal point in the project team, with 30% of the role dedicated to results. This role may also support partner capacity and manage partner compliance function and may change according to country programme needs. This role also includes proposal development and resource mobilisation. The role includes leading communication and visibility activities related to the project in particular and the Christian Aid Programme in general.
About you
Essential
- Degree, preferably in statistics, or the social sciences.
- NGO experience and knowledge of monitoring and evaluation.
- Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of a range of methods for monitoring, evaluation and assessment to promote evidence-based learning.
- Considerable experience in supporting development and programme staff
- Detailed knowledge of office programmes including MS Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel. Strong IT skills
- Familiarity with programme cycle management approaches and tools – including participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation
- To be well organised and able to learn complex systems and procedures quickly.
- Ability to train others in business, financial and information management systems including developing training materials and delivering training to workgroups
- Experience in developing and working with technical spreadsheets for financial and information management, including use of web/intranet based systems, databases etc
- Ability to work self-directed, to work to deadlines, under pressure and with multiple priorities.
- Budget monitoring and financial analysis
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build cross cultural relationships remotely across geographic boundaries
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion where appropriate
- To be able to manage and organise information systems and establish and maintain filing systems.
Desirable
Experience of working with an international NGO or with an institutional donor and Experience of maintaining records including programme and human resource records
