This is why we are looking for a dynamic and highly skilled individual to help drive forward our Humanitarian work on Cash and Markets in the continent.

About the role

Based:  In either Lilongwe, Malawi or Harare, Zimbabwe country offices

 

As the Senior Humanitarian Specialist Africa – Cash and Markets you will operate in three environments.

Firstly, you will support the country programs to develop an effective portfolio of humanitarian programs on cash and markets. To do this, you will provide technical support to country program staff, assisting them in program design, implementation, fundraising and partnership development. You will also provide surge capacity for emergency response in Africa and globally when needed.

Secondly, you will support broader thinking and strategy development across the Humanitarian division and CA relating to the development of good program practice and the integration of cash and markets in emergency and resilience programs.

Lastly you will have an external facing element, helping CA engage in the right networks, increasing the profile of CA emergency Cash and market related work, ensuring we are influenced by current good practice and opening up opportunities for new productive collaborations.

About you

To help make this happen, you will bring a sound background of excellent working knowledge on cash and market based emergency programming. You will have a good knowledge of emergency relief, rehabilitation and development issues including capacity building tools and techniques, understanding of participatory vulnerability and capacity assessments, understanding of the partnership approach to emergency work. You be an excellent communicator with the ability to provide remote technical support and develop cross-organizational relationships and be confident in engaging with external networks and actors. You will have experience in supporting learning and development, have experience of working via local partners and understand linkages between cash, markets and resilience livelihoods.

To be offered this job, you will need to be a citizen in the country where the post will be located since it is a local contract with no expatriate benefits.The role may be based in Zimbabwe or Malawi.

Salary Range for Zimbabwe: USD 56636 – 62,121

Salary Range for Malawi: GBP 28,369 -31,617
