The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) is an independent philanthropic organisation, headquartered in London with offices in Nairobi and New Delhi. We work with a wide range of partners seeking to transform the lives of poor and vulnerable children in developing countries.
We know that the returns on smart investments in children’s early development are very high. So we aim to play a catalytic role as a funder and influencer to deliver urgent and lasting change at scale. Areas of work include children and mothers’ health and nutrition, children’s education, deworming and welfare, and smart ways to slow down and stop climate change.
CIFF is now seeking to establish a staff position in Addis, Ababa, Ethiopia, to coordinate our programme portfolio of support to the country.
Position: Ethiopia Representative
Location: Addis Ababa, with travel
Salary: Competitive
The Ethiopia Representative will work closely with colleagues in our Survive and Thrive team in order to coordinate a high quality integrated portfolio of investments in nutrition, deworming, perinatal health and adolescent sexual health, ensuring synergies between programmes.

A strong leader and politically astute, you preferably bring experience of working with the Ethiopian Government, although other government contexts will be considered. A strategic thinker with a background in policy, planning and programme delivery in the development sector, you have knowledge of programme design and implementation in child and adolescent health. Your entrepreneurial approach will enable you to identify and act on new opportunities, enabling CIFF to strengthen its support in Ethiopia.
Candidates must be an Ethiopian national/diaspora, and an excellent communicator in Amharic and English. Significant travel within Ethiopia and to Nairobi and London is expected.
