International Alert is looking for an exceptional professional to provide technical peacebuilding, conflict analysis and conflict sensitivity advice to the ‘Enhancing State and Community Level Conflict Management Capability in North Eastern Nigeria’ programme. Based in Maiduguri, Borno State, but with substantial periods of time in Abuja and travel to Yobe and Adamawa States as well, you will provide technical leadership to the delivery of this exciting peacebuilding programme, leading or contributing to conflict analysis, training, conflict sensitivity, stakeholders’ engagement across the three target states. The position is sought by Alert, however the job will be performed through a secondment to the programme, line management responsibilities will therefore be simultaneously to Alert’s management and our client in Nigeria.
With a post graduate degree in a relevant subject, you will have substantial experience in peacebuilding, conflict analysis, conflict sensitivity and post-conflict reintegration and reconciliation. You will have experience in peacebuilding training needs assessment, training design and delivery; commissioning, supervising and ultimately delivering research outputs and you will be able to translate these into programming and policy advice. You will have an eye for detail and enjoy working in a diverse team, in a challenging environment.
