The F Band EHOD: Product Management, VGE MEA Portfolio role is based within Group Enterprise Product Management
The role of the EHOD: Product Management, VGE MEA Portfolio is to form the vision and strategic direction for the agreed VGE (Vodafone Global Enterprise) MEA portfolio to support VGE becoming a Gartner’s Magic Quadrant market leader Be the representative and ambassador for SCO in Middle East and Africa
Leverage customer, market, analyst, and competitor and VGE insight to be a knowledgeable thought leader and visionary for the VGE Portfolio and inspire customers, partners, and analyst & VGE teams. .
Interlock plans, budgets and roadmaps with Group Enterprise Product Management (GEPM), Group Enterprise Technology (GET), Group Enterprise operation (GEO) as well as Vodafone OpCos, other internal colleagues and external parties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing Interlock & governance with other functions, including Group Enterprise Technology (GET), Group Enterprise Operations, Customer Pre-Sales (CPS), Group Enterprise Product Management (GEPM) Portfolios, Group Enterprise Product Management (GEPM) Lifecycle, Marketing and Finance
- Represent product plans and performance to the VGE MEA Management team and their feedback and needs and priorities to the GEPM Product teams
- Ensure commercial goals as achieved (revenue, margin and other Product KPIs) with the VGE Sales and Support Teams.
- Working with GEPM, GET & the External Analysts team to ensure the Portfolio for VGE achieves and maintains Leadership in The Gartner Magic Quadrant.
- With GEPM, GET, GEO, Legal, Regulatory, EIT and partners execute to time, quality and budget agreed new product developments and in-life improvements to the portfolio.
- With training teams ensure Sales, Pre-sales, Bid and Specialist are trained and fully enabled to accurately represent VGE Products.
- With VGE & Group Enterprise Marketing, enable Go to Market plans for the Portfolio that supports positive market awareness, lead generation and customer confidence.
- Track and report all agreed Product Deliverables and Milestones, highlighting and driving corrective action when needed.
- Ensure quality and timely submissions to New Product Development, Stakeholder Review Boards other governance and assurance forums.
- Execute agreed developments to time, budget & quality with local and global teams, with an initial focus on the Connectivity & RED portfolio.
- Define highly competitive VGE America’s vision & plans
- Align with VGE GEPM, GET & GEO to develop the portfolio
- Manage VGE aspects of the agreed developments, improvements and go to market tasks
- Manage applicable aspects of risks and issues
- Ensure portfolio complies with internal and external governance
- Provide insightful & actionable performance insight
- Bring advance critical thinking, innovation and energy to the VGE portfolio to ensure VGE become a sustainable global leader
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Completed a relevant technical or business Degree/Diploma or SAQA accredited Equivalent*
- Minimum: 10 years in the ICT Industry (essential), with products & Services and product life cycle management experience, in a Telco, ISP, or related ICT services industry of which a mimimum of 5 years’ experience in managing multi-disciplinary and regionally dispersed teams is required
- Extensive enterprise customer experience
- Financial acumen and Business case understanding
- Marketing acumen and go to market planning
- Good analytical skills
- Formal project management qualification an advantage
- ITIL qualification an advantage

- Strong knowledge of global and national connectivity products and services
- Strong knowledge of global telecoms and IT Industries
- Experience with working with Multinational Enterprise Customer, market needs, trends and future developments
- Experience with key technology vendors and suppliers & leverage of them to drive results
- Product and Project Management skills – developing& delivering plans to time, budget & quality
- Able to engage across the Organisation at all levels, & understand functional operational models of Vodafone
- Ability to work remotely & build good relationship with stakeholders located in different countries.
- Telecoms industry process, systems and operations knowledge
- A self-starter with a determination to succeed, balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy
- Highly collaborative. Able to bring people together, deal with ambiguity and find ways forward.
- Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
