Purpose of the Job
Develop and implement a regional business plan derived from the overall Commercial Strategy, to generate revenue as well as retention performance, and to acquire new sales revenue avenues, thus increasing visibility and equity of the Cell C brand, products and services.
Main Responsibilities
NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Facilitate suitable business opportunities through researching, sourcing and identifying new site locations / distribution points.
Screen potential partners against predetermined criteria by analyzing and assessing their financial viability & business plans in the respective region ensuring the content as well as predictive forecasts are in line with Cell C growth and expectations.
Achieve sales revenue and acquisitions targets on a monthly basis in line with defined budgets and stores or channels as well as achieve existing and new channel specific KPIs and performance targets.
Facilitate the distribution to all internal stakeholders of the final signed agreements and safekeeping of the original agreement
Take ownership of timeous resolution of operational glitches, ensuring that the store opens on time, snag lists are resolved timeously and continual operational issues are resolved timeously.
REGIONAL SALES MNGT
Develop and execute assigned regional sales, revenue and retention plans in line with the national objectives as indicated by management.
Ensure achievement of assigned channel sales revenue, acquisition and retention targets on a monthly basis and in line with the regional targets.
Establish, gain and seek further forward share opportunities, increasing visibility and equity of the Cell C brand, while improving relationships with all regional stakeholders leading to increased growth in the target markets.
Monitor achievements of the assigned targets by channel outlet; immediately acting on low performing outlets through corrective actions.
Keep abreast of changing Market and other conditions, quickly amending and changing plans to ensure continuous growth.
Conduct competitor analysis within the region and report activities to management.
Conduct sound and detailed status analysis of existing and new channel partners and/or stores in order to take corrective action or provide further support in order to enhance revenue
CHANNEL MANAGEMENT
Manage the relationship with the Regional Offices of channel partners located in the region in conjunction with Channel KAM’s.
Meet the relevant contacts and stakeholders as per a specified calling diary to discuss and get buy-in into Cell C’s national objectives,
Manage and report monthly or as required on performance of the channel both internally and with channel management in the region.
Co-ordinate channel training needs in line with both Cell C and the channels objectives, ensuring a consistent and informed channel sales force.
Ensure in-store product knowledge of Cell C products, services and sales techniques are of world class, initiate training procedures where required
Timeously respond to / escalate / resolve all channel related Red Flag Issues escalated reporting on trends and developing plausible solutions.
SALES AND MARKETING PROMOTIONS
Distribute promotional budgets received from management per channel within region to ensure optimal service and product performance.
Develop, execute and report on the approved promotional plans, with specific objectives in line with both national and regional plans.
Ensure best practice principles are adhered to with respect to consistency of brand image in channels.
Control and maintain the upkeep all promotional items utilized for the various campaign
REPORT GENERATION
Complete weekly, monthly, post mortem reporting and quarterly sales performances and other reports as required.
H&S AND COMPLIANCE
Conform and adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental legislative and Cell C requirements
Report any health and safety concerns/incidents in the workplace to the manager/health and safety representative
Educational Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS
National Diploma in Sales and Marketing or RPL of at least 8 years of relevant experience.
Skills and Experience
Experience
· A total of 5 years relevant sales and marketing experience preferably within the Cellular Industry
· Of which 4 years’ experience of either working in a FMCG or Field Marketing environment
· Of which 2 years specific experience in retail and / or informal market
· Proven track record of achievement of sales and revenue targets
· Account Management experience a distinct advantage
Additional Requirements
Valid Driver’s Licence / own vehicle, or reliable mode of transport
Ability to work over weekends, (in addition to weekdays), as per company requirements
