WHO WE ARE
ActionAid is an international federation that works in 45 countries to promote social justice and fighting poverty. ActionAid Sweden has been a member of the federation for the past 10 years. ActionAid has an annual income of around 40 million SEK and around 17.000 monthly givers, and receives support from foundations, institutional donors and corporates. Based on feminist and Human Rights principles and approaches ActionAid supports excluded and marginalized communities in developing countries and their linkage to national organisations and movements.
ActionAid Sweden was formed in 2006 as a new member of ActionAid international. Now ten years later, we are building a strategic direction for the second phase of our development. During the first ten years ActionAid has created a brand in Sweden as a rights based development organisation with a focus on the rights of Women and girls. ActionAid have grown a voluntary fundraising programme based on 12.000 Child Sponsors, 7.000 other regular givers, and a portfolio of grants funded by institutional donors, foundations and corporates.
