Right now we’re looking for a Broadcast IT Engineer to join our talented Broadcast Engineering & Technical Operations Team based at our state of the art Media and Commerce Centre in Chiswick Park, West London.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a team that is future-focused and driven to utilise the latest technologies to help change the way the UK shops. The team is responsible for maintaining and supporting networks and server within Europe that support live studios, as well as output transmission in all broadcast areas of the business, including post production and server-based workflows.
Reporting to the Broadcast IT Manager the role will involve BAU and taking the lead on projects, executing efficient preventative maintenance plans and accurate upkeep of the Engineering Database and reporting progress of tasks in a timely matter.
We’re looking for someone who is a strong communicator, can remain calm under pressure and respond to the ever-changing demands of our company.
Key skills required include:
- (CCNA level) Cisco networking
- (MCSE MCSA) MS operating systems from windows 7, windows 2008 and above
- Virtualization technologies (VMWare and Hyper-V)
- OSX and some Linux would be beneficial.
- Knowledge Quantum Stornext and SAN storage would be extremely beneficial.
- ITIL Foundations and experience of working in Project environments such as Agile.
- An additional language skill such as French, Italian or German would be beneficial.
To be successful in this role you will need:-
A degree or equivalent qualification and ideally relevant experience in Broadcast IT/IT related field.
Ideally you should also have basic knowledge of video post-production systems, Basic/entry level knowledge in MySQL, programming and scripting would also be beneficial.
To be successful in this role you’ll need to be flexible and a fast learner as new and exciting projects are always coming up which often include external training.
The post holder will be required to provide out of hours support as part of an on-call rota.
