JOB DESCRIPTION
Business Architect assesses, models, and identifies necessary capabilities, across people process and technology, that are needed to realize the company strategy. BA aligns and supports projects and initiatives across the enterprise portfolio to minimize conflicts, increase strategic flexibility, and achieve the desired level of business performance both short term and long term.
The practice of business architecture provides the following value to the organization:

· Deeper relationships and engagement across the Business, Technology, and Finance
· Better visibility into the current and potential technology investment portfolio and linkage to broader enterprise investment portfolio
Key Responsibilities
· Business Architecture provides 5 distinct service offerings to our stakeholders. An Enterprise Business Architect is responsible for 1 – 3 and supports 4 and 5.
1. Analyze the business holistically to incorporate outside brands, services, and tools that drive growth and support initiatives and vision
2. Collaborate with Business and Technology stakeholders to clarify key initiatives and strategies, determine impacted capabilities and processes, align with planned activities, and increase visibility and a shared understanding our strategic direction.
3. Define, document, reconcile, and align capability model, process taxonomy, and connections among the components of our EA meta-model.
4. Provide business and technology with viable options analysis for potential projects or strategic initiatives
5. Provide process expertise and guidance across product areas and serve as a shared resource of process analysts to define and document processes
The Business Architect will work closely with the enterprise architect team at every level of the organization soliciting strategic imperatives from senior leaders and executives, and supporting business unit managers as they leverage business architecture artifacts to support business plans. The Business Architect may provide direct input into the governance cycle for the funding, oversight, and realization of business projects. In that governance role, the business architect helps to insure that business and IT projects are aligned to support the achievement of key goals, that specific business scenarios are considered and that business value is delivered.
Responsibilities Develop a business architecture strategy for the enterprise based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.
Apply a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the business units in the context of the enterprise.
Capture the tactical and strategic business goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.
Conduct periodical assessment of performance of the key metrics by using suitable methodologies and tools.
Education and Certifications A Bachelor degree in Business, IT or related field is required.
· 5 years’ experience in a similar Business Architect role.
Certifications in applicable skills a plus.
Operational
· Good cross industry knowledge of Telecom, Internet, Digital Media, Banking , Retail and Entertainment
· Work closely with business areas to develop business strategies
· Skills in modeling of business processes, capabilities and strategic directions
· Understanding of best practices in the industry and related industries
· Social media, cloud, mobile and digital platforms
· Aligns technology directions with business directions
· Awareness of emerging market trends, technologies and directions for the industry
· Ability to present to both business and technical teams the derived strategy, process and workflow recommendations, initiatives, benefits realization and revenue generation plans.
· Conduct periodical assessment to determine the performance of key metrics, business value from IT projects etc.
Consultative Ability to develop operating procedures and processes for the business architecture practice
· Knowledge of industry standard methods of modeling architectures, capabilities, business motivations
· Ability to recommend and present proposed operating practices
· Creation of roadmaps and workplans for the development of the internal practice in business architecture

Skills And Qualifications
Understanding of and ability to operate within architectural frameworks
- Business architecture fundamentals, including typical models, patterns and practices.
- Utilizing Business Architecture principles and models to identify business gaps, overlaps and risk areas at an Enterprise Level.
- A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
- Ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies. Those issues may exist in role alignment, process gaps and overlaps, and business capability maturity gaps
- Ability to visualize and create high-level models (rigorous information-rich diagrams) that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture
- Experience developing and using these high-level models as required to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business
· -15 years of experience planning and deploying business and IT initiatives (in Telecom industry). Exposure to operations in ITIL, COBIT environment would be an advantage.
· -10 years of experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques (such as eTOM)
· Good exposure to TOGAF
· 8-15 years of experience in BSS (Billing, CRM, Mediation, Provisioning), OSS (Assurance, Fulfilment, Order Management)
· Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrable ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
· Must be a Team player and able to work in a team environment effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus. Must be highly reliable, trustworthy, honest, and commitment oriented.
