Jaldhaara Foundation is a not for profit organization. Jaldhaara Foundation designs and implements social marketing programs to transform water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) practices in rural and urban communities of Ghana to eradicate water borne diseases and provide them access to safe drinking water.

Job Description

  • Level: Deputy General Manager
  • Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer
  • No. of Positions: One (1)
  • Location: Accra, Ghana

Functional Description
The incumbent would be responsible for creating the entire infrastructure for setting up the organization. He/she will establish systems and processes for running the Company, he/she will design and implement Jaldhaara ‘s funding initiatives. The incumbent will lead the organization inline with the vision, mission, goals and strategic objectives of the Organization. He/she will run the entire operations of the Company including field and back end procedures.

Job Description

  • Formulate Annual Operating Plan and Budget inline with the Strategic Objectives of the Organization
  • Prudently manage organizational resources within the budget and maintain tight financial and operational control.
  • Oversee design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of Consumer Programs.
  • Oversee fundraising i.e. plan and and identify resource requirements and researching funding sources. Establish strategies [supported by compelling and comprehensive proposals] to approach donors, funding agencies and receive adequate funding for the proposed programs.
  • Manage internal and external outreach of programs and communication with various stake holders including measuring and reporting on the efficacy of such programs.
  • Manage the Human Resources of the organization, create and run personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations
  • Assure the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong and positive manner to all stakeholders [both internal and external].

Required Skills or Experience

  • Education: Engineering Graduate with PGDM/MBA or Project Management/Social Sciences
  • Functional Experience: The incumbent should have at least 15 to 20 years experience in the Social/NGO sector. He/She should be well versed with all the aspects of managing a social or not for profit enterprise; should poses sound knowledge in the areas of Project, Financial and Human Resources Management along with outstanding Analytical skills, should be well networked with corporates and government agencies. In addition to these he/she should also be familiar with regulatory and legal aspects of business and NGO operations
  • Years of Experience: The incumbent should have over 15 to 20 years of experience in NGO/Social sector.

Knowledge Required

  • Experience of running /managing social or not for profit enterprise
  • Mobilizing Community programs and activities such that it leads to behavior change.
  • Experience of running field and backend functions of a ‘typical’ organization
