The program is a gateway to a challenging onshore career as Assistant Rig Manager, and you will have excellent opportunities to quickly advance to high-level positions.
As part of the program and depending on your background you may start out with working offshore for a period of time in order to obtain relevant offshore experience. Here you will be exposed to the various departments and positions offshore.
You will then work onshore for 12-24 months in our office in Accra. Here you will be working directly under supervision of an experienced Assistant Rig Manager.

| Key Responsibilities |
Once you have finished your time offshore you, together with the Rig Team, will be responsible for the daily operation onshore of a drilling rig and maintain close operational dialogue with oil company representatives, subcontractors and authorities. As an Assistant Rig Manager Trainee your objectives will be to:
• Develop your knowledge of the offshore Deepwater drilling
• Support in the management of the operation of one of our drilling rigs from the shorebase
• Continuously develop the crew on board
• Maintain the health and safety environment and address on-site specific challenges
• Supervise maintenance, logistics and procurement processes
• Develop and Manage Improvement Projects
The program combines theory and on-the-job training. You will get under the skin of all aspects of rig operation and get a broad exposure to the challenges and responsibilities as an Assistant Rig Manager.
| Who we are looking for |
You are a graduated engineer with a couple of years of experience from the drilling industry including skills within people management, – or you may have an offshore background as a Marine/Maintenance Engineer, Assistant Driller or Driller with at least two years offshore experience.
Offshore experience or experience from the oil industry is an advantage.
You are a strong self-starter with drive, initiative, result-orientation and commitment to excellence.
