JSI has received funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement the Strengthening Partnerships, Results and Innovations in Nutrition Globally (SPRING) Project in northern Ghana to strengthen the treatment and preventive nutrition services in health facilities, and to oversee the implementation of specific tasks that strengthen community based nutrition improvements.
Job Summary
The main purpose of this position is to provide IT support to various divisions within SPRING and district operations.
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Set up, administer and maintain Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers and Internet gateways, including liaising with outside agencies and consultants as necessary.
- Install and maintain computer hardware for server and client processors
- Design, implement and use proxy servers.
- Administer shared data connectivity resources for SPRING terminals.
- Provides help desk support to LAN users
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and solve PC and laptop hardware and software faults.
- Install and maintain software including operating systems and applications.
- Provide technical assistance to system users to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the IT equipment e.g. printers, copiers, phones, cameras and LAN/WAN infrastructures.
- Provide help desk support to SPRING staff users,
- Perform computer operation functions such as end-of day processing, backup, recoveries, and network support.
- Support management decision making and make recommendations for IT related budgeting, procurement and operational matters.
- Train staff in computer applications, in particular Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) at their place of work where appropriate.
- Advise on procurement of IT equipment and accessories
- Keep inventory of all IT equipment.
- Assist management in the implementation of IT policies, procedures and protocols across the program.
- Report regularly to the DCOP F&O and identify problem issues and possible solutions.
- Additional responsibilities of a similar nature may be assigned from time to time.
- Skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), management Information systems, Information technology, interpersonal skills, effective communication, and ability to work with cross functional teams.
- BSc. in Computer Science, Information Systems; or relevant Microsoft Certified Course completion; or relevant Cisco certified course completion.
- At least 3 years working experience in a well-established IT firm or IT division within an organization similarly sized to SPRING Ghana. An NGO and or development work experience is an added advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to be a team player.
