The position is open with our client, international gold producer. The main focus of the role is to set the exploration strategic direction and control the exploration budget for the region ensuring optimal allocation of exploration funds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement the long term exploration strategy to deliver sustainable replacement of reserves.
- Generate exploration targets across the assigned region and evaluate growth and acquisition opportunities.
- Provide supervision to all exploration activity, including budgeting and cost control.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate effective interaction between mine sites, disciplines, and the regional exploration teams.
BACKGROUND
- Degree in Mining Engineering or Geology.
- 15+ years in mining industry, including proven track record of managing large exploration programs.
- Strong geological background demonstrated by a history of proven success in defining and exploring gold deposits.
- International experience is a strong advantage.
- Proven leadership skills, strong business acumen.
