We operate 100,000 barrels per day refinery in Milnerton, Cape Town, that produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, fuel oil, paving asphalt and other products. Chevron South Africa also has interests in a lubricant oil manufacturing plant in Durban and maintains a laboratory and blending plant there.
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Fixed Equipment Inspector located in Milnerton, South Africa through August 31, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Initiates and executes on-stream and shutdown inspection of refinery equipment including: piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, drums, furnaces, etc.
Documents findings and complete analysis of data to ensure that the condition of the equipment is understood
Makes recommendations as to future reliability, fitness for service and repair
Performs quality assurance and quality control functions for repairs of equipment in assigned area
Oversees condition of equipment to ensure that equipment integrity is maintained, and that compliance with applicable codes or standards is assured
Utilizes Risk Based Inspection methodology in the preparation of Inspection and reliability plans for equipment
Reports to Corporation, jurisdiction and Underwriter agencies pertaining to the status of equipment
Participates on turnaround planning and other teams
Participates in and / or lead incident investigations
Acts as a resource to the projects group to provide guidance regarding new equipment
Required Qualification:
A minimum of 5 years refinery or equivalent industry experience is required.
Preferred qualifications:
Training level I or II qualified in UT, MT, PT, RT
API 510, 570 or 563 qualifications
SAQCC CP / CP-Boilers or IPE
ASME NBIC.
