Job Description

 Project summary

IPA is seeking to hire an Associate Field Manager (AFM) for a maximum of a year to work on the Communication for Development (C4D) Impact evaluation. The Associate Field Manager will carry out monitoring, collect data, produce reports from the C4D districts -Tamale, Tolon, Savelugu,Wa, Jirapa, Sissala East, Bolga, Bongo and Builsa.

The Associate Field Manager will also be required to manage field teams during major data activities. The work will require extensive travel within the nine districts in the Northern, Upper West and Upper East Regions.

Job description

The Associate Field Manager  shall carry out regular monitoring visits to C4D districts, build very good relationship with partners at the districts and regional levels and collect data.

Basically, the Associate Field Manager shall;

Report directly to the Research Associate;
Adhere to all IPA survey protocols;
Travel at least monthly to C4D districts to gather monitoring data
Analyze data and prepare reports on monitoring data
Supervise multiple field teams and Team Leader during data collection;
Organize overall field and office  logistics;
Contact the IPA Research Associate at any time with questions or concerns;
Coordinate field work, manage field team expenses, and communicate with the project management team;
Ensure that field teams adhere to IPA protocols and meet their contractual obligations
Accompany surveyors; conduct random, spot checks; Scrutinize edited surveys; do back-checks as necessary;
Ensure survey equipment is managed appropriately by field teams and assist with the preparation of daily work plans
Be responsible for maintaining good relations with IPA, its employees, partner organizations and project participants;
Perform other duties related to the project that may be assigned to him/her.
Required Skills or Experience

 

It is required that potential candidates possess;

A diploma or University degree in Health, Economics, or any other related field;
Strong oral and written communication skills in English;
Strong oral proficiency and basic grammatical knowledge in any of the following local languages – Dagbani, Dagaare, Sissali, Frafra and Buli
Knowledge of additional or multiple languages used in the Northern, Upper West and Upper East Regions is an added advantage;
Good knowledge of basic mathematical computations;
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with little or no supervision;
Previous experience (at least one year) in a similar  position is an added advantage;
Computer literacy with proficiency in MS word and excel;
Experience in using technology to collect data on the field
