Job for Deputy Head of Aviation At Shell Gabon

The Rabi, Toucan and Koula fields are located approximately 50 kilometers north of the Gamba field where we produce some 65,000 barrels of oil per day.
Job Description    Key responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
 
Deputise for Head of Aviation Services during periods of absences
Assist in maintaining HSSE standards for all aviation services that meet the latest Shell Group requirements
Assist in maintaining aviation standards, for all Shell Gabon flight activities, that meet the latest requirements of Shell Aircraft International (SAI)
Assist in provision of safe and cost effective aviation services within agreed budget
Assist in maintaining airports and runways to required standards and within agreed budget.
Support the assurance of capable and adequately trained staff

 Health Safety Security Environment
Ensure that all aviation services to Shell Gabon are provided with risks contained to as low as reasonably practicable.
Assist in monitoring of Health, Safety, Security and Environment Management System (HSSE-MS) of aviation department and aviation contractor operations.
Supervise follow up action items from all HSSE audits and inspections.

Business Management
Support the provision of aviation services within the annual budget approved by Shell Gabon.
Prepare Aviation budget, safety plan, business plan and internal audit plan.
Participate in formulation and amendment of Aviation Service contracts and assist in administration and management of agreed contracts.

Management of Aviation Services
Support the provision of approved aviation services to meet the needs of Shell Gabon.
Assist in monitoring the operational performance of aviation contractors.
Support the implementation of comprehensive monitoring and recording systems.
Assist in the the efficient control, usage and scheduling of aircraft.
Assist in maintaining contact with Government bodies concerned with the operation of aircraft in Gabon.
Assist in Implementing Shell Group standards in all areas of Shell Gabon aviation operations.

Airport Management
 
Assist in ensuring airport control towers are appropriately manned, radio watch is maintained and equipment is fit for purpose and serviceable.
Assist in ensuring that appropriate operational procedures are implemented, performed and periodically reviewed for continual improvement.
Assist in ensuring effective airport security and discipline is maintained.
Assist in ensuring airports & runways at Gamba and Rabi are maintained as fit for purpose.
Perform appropriate Health, Safety and Environment Critical tasks
Requirements    
Minimum of 10 years experience in the aviation industry, either civil or military, as a qualified Pilot or Engineer
Knowledge of EP HSSE standards and safety systems and HSSE-MS as applicable to aviation
Knowledge of required Shell Aircraft International aviation standards
Knowledge of required airport operating requirements and standards
Knowledge of international and local aviation standards, practices and regulations, for the operation and maintenance of aircraft
Negotiating skills, interpersonal skills and personnel supervision
Management experience and interpersonal skills
Commercial awareness and experience of budget control is an advantage.
Good communication skills – verbal and written
Fluency in French Language – Written & spoken
Proficient in English language – Written & spoken
Computer literacy including SAP competence
