Transport Liaison Officer At Hamilton Lloyd and Associates
Our client offers a world-class integrated logistics service that spans across the supply chain. Being specialists in importation, exportation and transportation, they offer a comprehensive service that can expertly transport freight by land, sea or air. Due to the expansion of the company, it has decided to hire a Transport Liaison Officer.
Role:
- To ensure proper coordination, improvement and effective communication on various Transporters
Direct Report: Transport Manager
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control on truck and trip round trip times for transporters and give suggestion for improvements and optimization.
- Keep communication open with drivers or escorts, the company‘s staff on ground at clients, transport coordinators on transporters side and Transport Security Officer.
- Keep record of diversion and break down/repairs of trucks per trip and transporter
- Engage Escorts through security officer and check Escorts assignment as per company policy, including analysis and recommendation regarding required number of escorts
- Escalate to transport security officer and to Transport Manager and breakdowns, accidents or diversions immediately upon information available.
- Keep records of agreed truck routes to various destinations as needed, in order to allow optimized utilization of mopol team under Transport Security Officer
- Lead and work with the two other transport liaison officers for the optimized result.
- Sourcing, screening, vetting and introducing reliable transport companies to cope the growing volumes of cargo handled, cleared and delivered to numerous customers on a daily basis.
- Ensuring quality control and compliance by transporters
- Enforcing compliance with proper truck certification and documentation to include relevant insurance requirements for all trucks used by transporters.
- Forging a good relationship between the company and third service providers/transporters
- Create and formulate effective transport policies targeted at achieving good results
- Liaising with ports, terminals and shipping companies in relation to effective truck controls and dropping of empties.
- Regular tracking of shipping lines, terminal and holding bays operators for dropping of empties as a way of facilitating quick turnaround of trucks and reducing the duel time for deliveries.
- Other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

Good knowledge of Transport operation
Good organizational skills
Good time management
Confident communications skills
Required to work 6 days Monday through Saturday, assist during evenings, Sundays or Special trips or events may be required
Profile:
In respect of the ideal candidate profile:
- 6 years experience in Logistics & Transport Operations.
- Bachelors Degree in Mass communication.
- Masters in Management Psychology would be an added advantage.
