Job Purposes
To support hydrocarbon exploration or development projects by providing reconstructions of subsurface features of potential interest for exploration, or reservoir geometries and properties, by means of geological data integrated with geophysical data
Job Activities
- To analyse and interpret surface and subsurface geological data such as geological maps, remote sensing data, outcrop data, well data and samples, as well as interpretations of geophysical prospecting data, in order to develop consistent geological models.
- To integrate geological and geophysical models in order to reconstruct the regional geological, structural and stratigraphic features of the study area, identifying and evaluating exploration plays, leads and prospects, or contributing to the characterisation of discovered reservoirs.
Required Skills or Experience
- Degree (Msc) from a university or graduate college (Polytechnic, Mining Institute,…) giving extensive knowledge in the earth science subjects.
- Specialisation or University courses addressed to Petroleum Geological disciplines is appreciated.
Technical skills
- Should have a sound knowledge of petroleum geology and basin analysis, including structural geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, geochemistry, and basic seismic interpretation skills, applying the knowledge to the overall workflow both at exploration and reservoir scale.
- Basic knowledge of Geophysical prospecting methods is required.
