The Rabi, Toucan and Koula fields are located approximately 50 kilometers north of the Gamba field where we produce some 65,000 barrels of oil per day.
Job Description
To ensure all aircraft operating to and from Gamba & Rabi Airports are provided with effective Advisory Flight Information Service that includes accurate observations on local weather conditions, runway status/information and local area traffic information to ensure that all visiting aircraft operate safely in accordance with the local Gamba Airport procedures
Ensure airport control tower is manned, radio watch is maintained, information is provided to flight crews, during published airport operating hours and standby system is in place, outside these hours
Supervise all ground operations, passenger control, Check-in, manifest preparation, weight and balance calculationa, secuirty and facility maintenance
Monitor and recommend improvements to airport operations and ensure that safety of operation or person(s) is not compromised
Monitor all equipment at the airport tower and report any defects, or suspected defect to responsible departments for rectification / follow up
Be availabe “on- call” for duty outside of published airport operating hours
Comply with Shell Gabon Radio Operator procedures and Emergency response procedures
Alert rescue and fire fighting services available in the area of responsibility as defined under local procedures and whenever:An aircraft accident occurs within the area of responsibility,Information is received that the safety of an aircraft may have been impaired, When requested by the Flight Crew
Submit incident reports for incidents specifically related to the provision of air traffic services.
Requirements
At least 2-3 years experience in the Aviation Industry
Minimum qualification of BAC+2/3, Licence, LP
Good verbal and written communication in English and French are essential
Good working understanding of HSSE
Knowledge of all procedures, standards, practices and regulations for the provision of a satisfactory Advisor Flight information Service
Qualified AFIS or ATC applicants preferred
Kep Competence:
Be able to determine and select the most appropriate runway or landing / take off direction suitable for use by the types of aircraft expected to land or take off
Issue traffic information to aircraft to achieve a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic with the object of assisting pilots in preventing collision
Issue Aerodrome information useful to the safe and efficient conduct of Aviation traffic
Provide flight crews with clear instruction relating to aircraft parking stands and control apron movements of personnel and vehicles in accordance with local procedures
Correctly use equipment provided to determine meteorological information as required in local procedures and read standard aviation weather reports
Provide appropriate meteorological information in the correct order using standard phraseology
Ensure all aeronautical lighting is operated in accordance with local procedures
Use Radio Telephony communications procedures appropriate and defined under local procedures
