Marketing & Communications Manager (Linear TV)
Job description
The Marketing & Communication Manager will be responsible for promoting and managing iROKO Linear TV brands. He/She will work closely with the Programs Manager to create marketing campaigns engaging the audience through all the necessary platform and with the Sales department to increase the awareness of the company toward new and existing clients/advertisers.
Depending on the load of work and the complexity of the tasks, the Marketing & Communication manager may have a support staff and/or one or two account executives assigned to help in their area, and may also work with the production or creative people to produce commercials for some advertisers. This position requires a decisive, fast-thinking individual with excellent communication, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • Conceive and implement the launch strategy of the Linear channels, ;
  • Initiate, develop and plan the overall marketing and communication strategy of iROKO Linear channels;
  • Develop, recommend and deploy an appropriate mix of online/offline marketing tactics that will increase iROKO Channels brand awareness, viewers engagement and boost our audience;
  • Work with the Content and Programs manager to define a brand strategy and set up the day-to-day brand management of the iROKO Linear TV channels;
  • Conceptualize strategic initiatives and campaigns with brand consistency aimed at promoting iROKO Linear channels;
  • Monitoring market trends, track consumers and market insights by reviewing metrics such as advertisement revenues, market share, profit projections, pricing and by conducting consumer research;
  • Analyze audience surveys and advise the content & programming department;
  • Manage external marketing partners such as advertising agencies, digital marketing firms or production companies;
  • Work closely with the Sales and Content departments
  • Foster branding and messaging to promote the different channels and their programs across various media platforms including radio, print, PR opportunities, press releases, direct mail, classic advertising and the entire online realm of websites, blogs, social networks and related portals (e.g. Facebook, You Tube, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Cooperate actively with our Pay-TV partners to develop joint marketing activities;
  • Strengthen our relationship with Nollywood industry through sponsorship or official support of events according to a specific agenda or by creating events from scratch;

  • Main highlights and issues
  • Audience & social media statistics
  • Next month key actions
  • Advise Human resources on all hiring, training and firing of personnel involved in Marketing as well as their job descriptions;
  • Develop and publish marketing and sales support materials from scratch;
  • Managing marketing budgets for each channels and platforms;
  • Organizing events, photo shoots and launch parties;
Job Requirements
Required Experience: 3-5 year(s)

Desired Skills and Experience
This position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree (a Master would be desirable) in Mass Media Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or Marketing and three to five years of professional experience in an executive or managerial position (Online/offline advertisement agency, media house, broadcaster, web oriented (B2C) company).

  • Knowledge of Facebook ads campainging, Microsoft Office or Google Apps;
  • Show an understanding of the challenges facing the industry and the demonstrate the right attitude to work in a challenging and dynamic environment;
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
