The Rabi, Toucan and Koula fields are located approximately 50 kilometers north of the Gamba field where we produce some 65,000 barrels of oil per day.
Job Description
Principal Accountabilities:
Understand the terms and conditions of contract and operate within same
Understand and comply with Shell HSSE and other policies, analytical procedures
and laboratory best practices
Understand and use Safe Handling Of Chemicals cards(shoc), Material Safety Data Sheets(MSDS) and PPE as required
Administer samples in sample manager(Laboratory Info Mgt System), conduct analyses and report results in LIMS within specified Turn Around Time
Calibrate test equipment as required and maintain records
Standardize reagents as required and maintain records
Ensure proper handling of all equipment and maintain good housekeeping
Retain and store test samples under specified conditions and period
Segregate, quantify and report generated waste on weekly basis
Conduct internal QA/QC checks and report on weekly basis
Contribute to preparation of weekly and monthly Lab performance reports
Compile results and input into appropriate database as required
Close out assigned Lab audit recommendations and items
Participate in toolbox meetings and all DPC HSE and quality activities as required
Relevant Experience /Qualification
Good working understanding of HSE policies and requirements of international management systems i.e. HSE-MS, ISO 9000, ISO 17025
Minimum of 2-years university degree in Chemistry or equivalent( DTS, BTS, DUT, DEUG)
Two (2) years cognate experience with a minimum of 6-months hands-on experience in an oilfield production chemistry laboratory
Good verbal and written communication skills (French/English)
Knowledge level in all relevant laboratory/safety procedures, codes and practices
Awareness level in environmental policies and applicable country regulations
