It’s hard to believe that today 748 million people still don’t have safe, clean water and 2.5 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every minute.
WaterAid is looking for a Communications Officer – Voices from the Field to play a vital role in our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities.
Working within the Communications Team, this role has been created to support and deliver the Voices from the Field project. The successful candidate will focus on gathering stories and case studies via interviews, film and photography and sharing them on a digital multimedia library for use across the organisation. This will include post-production and writing up case studies.
The post-holder will also focus on training and supporting staff in Zambia to collect relevant materials and to establish links with other filmmakers, photographers and journalists who can support this work.
To be successful, you’ll need to hold a diploma or degree in Journalism, Media and Communications, or a similar subject, or equivalent practical experience. You will also need proven experience as a filmmaker and photographer and excellent communications skills in both English and Zambian local languages, preferably Nyanja, Tonga or Bemba.
