Job Description
UNICEF Nigeria seeks the services of an experienced Quality Assurance Officer, responsible for carrying out proactive and systematic HACT quality assurance activities of all activities implemented under the government of Nigeria/UNICEF Country Programme of Cooperation, in order to provide an independent and objective assessment of the rationale, adequacy and effectiveness of the Country Office’s risk management and HACT internal control framework, processes and systems.
Qualifications and Competencies required:
Professional accounting qualification (eg CPA, ICAN, and ACCA) is required. An Advanced University degree in Accountancy, Finance or Administration is an asset.
A minimum of five years’ experience in internal/external audit or financial management experience in a reputable organization.
Experience in fraud/investigative work, as well as in IT audit.
In-depth knowledge of internal auditing, professional standards and application of IPSAS.
First-rate analytical skills and proven knowledge of management principles. Good knowledge of financial matters.
Ability to establish priorities, conceive and execute work against a sound work plan.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Maturity of judgment, tact, integrity and discretion.
Initiative and resourcefulness. Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other team members.
Experience with training and facilitation of group learning processes.
Computer skills, including internet navigation, SAP and various office applications.
Fluency in English is required. Ability to speak another UN language is an asset.
Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
Knowledge of UNICEF Internal Control issues and policies is an asset.
