Job Summary:

Swift Worldwide Resources are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to work for a major operator in the oil and gas industry. The role will be based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria on a residential basis

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Project Manager, on behalf of the Business, will be responsible for the assigned project whether medium or large scale from inception to installation and subsequent hand over to client.

The Project Manager interfaces and coordinates with key stakeholders such as Sales, Delivery and the client.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Defining the project strategy and timely execution
Contractual and commercial negotiations
Project budget and expenditure
Customer Relations
Project milestones and Supplier Performance (internal and external)
Cross team integration – e.g. Sales and Proposals
Health and Safety compliance
Project continuous improvement Activities
Project updates and reporting

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Degree or equivalent in Electronic (Control Engineering) or related discipline
Significant demonstrable experience in managing complex technical engineering projects in a global setting ideally within heavy industry such as Oil and gas or energy sector
Written and verbal fluency in English
Prepared to travel sometimes 25% of the time

ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES

Essential

Comprehensive understanding of controls and instrumentation technologies, specifically DCS and ESD technologies
Proven experience of managing projects from $100k up to $2m from a company scope and third party management.
Previous experience of project managing both greenfield, brownfield and expansion project including hot cut-overs
Previous experience of working with major second tier oil and gas/pharmaceutical/nuclear companies
Proven leadership skills and experience with the ability to motivate teams of indirect, multi discipline reports across geographically disparate project teams
Ability to identify project scope growth and profit improvements
Experience of meeting local content targets and meeting local content authorities such as NAPIMS
Strong communication skills at all levels
Customer focus approach – consultative, informing and influential
Financial and commercial acumen
Motivational and drives performance
