APPLICATION TO SERVE AS OBSERVERS FOR GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS IN EKITI AND OSUN STATES.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) hereby invites registered Civil Society organization (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and other interested Stakeholders whose focus is on Democracy, Governance and Election and other Groups who wish to observe the forth-coming Ekiti State Governorship Elections schedule to hold on the 21st June, 2014 and the Osun State Governorship election scheduled to hold on the 9th August, 2014 to visit the commission’s website www.inecnigeria.org for the application Forms.
Interested Observer Groups should download, complete the application form (EMOC 01) and submit same to Elections and party Monitoring Department, INEC Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja along with other necessary documents (including evidence of past election observation)to assist in their assessment.
Please note that Observer Groups that applied and submitted their legal status and evidence of past election observations during the accreditation process for the 2013 Anambra Governorship Elections would only need to complete and submit EMOC 01 now.
The list of all successful Observer Groups will subsequently be published in National Dailies and on the Commission‘s Website after the close of application.
Accreditation Of Election Observers
All successful groups would be required to subsequently fill the accreditation Form (EMOC 02) for election observers which is obtainable at the Elections and party Monitoring Department, INEC Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja.
Observer Groups applying for accreditation should please note that Passport photographs of their members to be deployed to Ekiti and Osun States will be required in filling Form
(EMOC 02). This is to enable the Commission produce identification /accreditation tags for Observers ahead of the election.
Please note that all successful Observer Groups are required to submit their Observation Reports (in hard and Soft Copies) to the elections and Party Monitoring Department of INEC Headquarters, Maitama Abuja.
Closing date for the receipt application Forms (EMOC 01) for the two elections is Monday March 31st 2014.
