position: Lawyer
Draws up legal documents, manages and advises clients on legal agreements. Represent clients in litigation and other legal proceedings, Specializes in oil and gas and marine laws
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the organization in the provision of legal advice on the interpretation of standard contracts and all outgoing correspondences;
- Provide legal advice on contracts and procurement issues, including the development, implementation and interpretation of regulations and rules, and the review of biding documents for the procurement of goods and services by the organization;
- Prepare and update standard forms of contracts for use by the organization;
- Prepare and negotiate substantial or complex commercial agreements and contracts for the organization;
- Liaise with the organizational external solicitors regarding cases in the law courts;
- Negotiate and draft, in consultation with office of Legal Counsel standard basic assistance and cooperation with the ongoing cases in the law court;
- Provide legal advice on the use/misuse of the name of the organization etc.
EDUCATIONAL OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Masters degree in Law with LL.B and LL.M. A Minimum of 5 experience in the legal department of an oil and gas firm. Extensive experience in the practical application of international law, including international commercial matters and/or the law of international organization is required. Excellent analytical and drafting skills, including ability to deliver final drafts of legal opinions on complex matters under pressure is a must
