In this role you will need to ensure compliance with BHP Billiton commitment to Zero Harm, which will include demonstrating a record of uncompromised values of Sustainability, Integrity, Respect, Performance, Simplicity and Accountability, by putting health and safety first, being environmentally responsible and supporting our communities. BECSA offers bursaries to talented candidates who are South African residents, for full time university and university of technology students studying in the following disciplines; Mining Engineering, Mine Surveying, Extractive Metallurgy, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current), Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (Minerals Processing) and Geology (Honours).
Mining, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering students are expected to further their qualifications and achieve the Government Certificate of Competency and Mine Managers certificate respectively. Students in first or subsequent years of undergraduate study are eligible to take the first step towards exciting career opportunities available with us. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted in July and will be required to undergo psychometric testing as well as a panel interview. In addition all candidates are required to successfully undergo a medical fitness examination to progress to the next level of the selection process.
