Job description
The Sales Development Manager will assist the Sales and Marketing Director to develop the Group Sales across Africa in a coherent and efficient manner.
The position is based Paris, France.
Responsibilities
Sales
Act as a Regional Account Manager for some strategic accounts.
Assist the Sales and Marketing Director as needed.
Analyze and monitor market developments and positioning of competitors to be able to react quickly.
Resolve and analyze customer dissatisfaction.
Management
Document and deploy all sales procedures, ensure alignment in sales practices, in communication towards customers.
Coach local sales managers to help them develop local sales and switch from a reactive to a proactive mode.
Define action plans, control progress of sales teams and review sales pipeline
Follow up sales leads with local teams.
Organize regular sales review meetings, conf-calls, briefings with African sales Managers
Support and inform the Group African sales team to make sure they are in line with corporate objectives and decisions.
Receive every month from sales teams reporting on key projects/prospects with updated salient facts.
Promote best practices and share success stories.
Make propositions to reinforce Group sales organization as well as to improve sales activities.
Marketing
With the Marketing Manager, work on attractive and coherent presentations to promote Group services.
Set up commercial & communication tools
Qualifications et experience
Candidates must have 10 years experience in sales of Supply Chain services and in sales team management in a large network.
Strong organisational, interpersonal and leadership ability and excellent communications skills are essential.
Ability to operate and functionally manage people in a matrix structure.
Resourceful, flexible, able to multi-task to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Must be willing and able to travel regularly.
Working knowledge of common software tools (MS Office)
