Job description

The Financial Analyst (FA) provides financial support to the Controller and Base/Operations Managers in order to ensure that each significant business decision is based on sound financial consideration. The FA assesses business trends, develops root causes of business issues and identifies opportunities for reduced costs and improved productivity.

The Financial Analyst reports to the Financial Controller.

The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
Analyze and control investment (Capex, Inventory, DSO)
Perform monthly reviews of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts relating to area of responsibility, including business indicators such as profitability and liquidity
Present monthly analysis on costs and revenue
Assist with financial planning, forecasting and monitoring of results versus objectives
Identify weaknesses in internal control and suggest improvements
Assess and highlight opportunities for increased cost efficiencies
Analyze profitability of new business opportunities via contract reviews, bid support and evaluation of risk versus reward prospects
Evaluate currency exposure
Support mentoring and development of Accountants
Assist in conducting surveys of departmental organization, management staffing utilization and procedures
Participate in Internal Audit assignments and support fraud investigations
Ad hoc reporting, analysis or projects as required and assigned balance account reconciliation
Understands, reviews, implements and complies with Sarbane Oxley requirements as defined in the ICAD
Complies with applicable company policies, including Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures.
Successfully complete required safety training
Qualifications et experience
Qualified to degree level in Finance/Accounting
Experience of 3 -5 years in a financial role
Problem Solving: creative and innovative quality solutions, analytical oriented, and good decision making skills.
Possess mentoring skills and can set/accomplish objectives.
Good oral/written communication skills. Must be customer services oriented, and interacts frequently with peer groups, subordinates and management advising on area of responsibility.
