Role Summary/Purpose
The Human Resources Manager demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide advice and counsel to management and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices.
- Lead client organizations in the development of the annual reviews, organization structure development, job design, staffing, compensation, and organization change / effectiveness.
- Partner with business leaders on multiple human resource issues, including the following: policies, legislation, processes, and practices; evaluation and development of personnel, annual reviews, and compensation plans; implementation of process improvement (Six Sigma / Lean), including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation; staffing and pipeline development.
- Provide leadership for the development and execution of organization vision and structure, including development and execution of a communication plan to ensure that effective two-way communication takes place.
- Assure that appropriate training opportunities are provided to employees to further personal, career, and organizational development.
- Investigate and provide counsel / advice regarding concerns about contractual issues (when applicable).
- Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate; help drive various corporate and division business initiatives.
- Identify recruiting needs, develop sources of qualified candidates; facilitate screening, testing and selection of applicants with management.
- Drive HR processes such as e-HR dashboard, annual HR review (Session C), organizational effectiveness and performance management.
- Responsible for investigations, conflict resolution, employee communications and management coaching.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in a human resources position).
- At least 3 additional years of experience as a human resources generalist.
- Must be willing to travel as required for the role.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Desired Characteristics
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resoureces is preferred (MHR, MILR, MBA).
